Semiya Payasam / Vermicelli Kheer



Ingredients 

Semiya ( vermicili)    : 3/4 cup 
Milk                           :  3 cups 
Sugar                       : 3/4 cup 
Cardamom powder  : 1 tsp
Saffron                     : few strands
Ghee                        : 1 tbsp 



Method 

Soak saffron in little milk.
Heat ghee in a heavy bottomed pan,roast semiya( vermicili) until slightly brown.
Add milk and let it boil until semiya turns soft.
Add sugar and mix.
Cook on low flame for few minutes until milk gets thick.
Add cardamom powder ,soaked saffron and mix.
Switch off the flame and serve hot.
Enjoy.
