Ingredients
Channa Dal : 1 cup
Onion : 1
Tomato : 2
Green chilly : 2
Ginger ( chopped) : 1 tsp
Garlic ( chopped) : 1 tsp
Garam masala powder : 1 tsp
Chilly powder : 1 tbsp ( or as per taste)
Saunf
Bay leaves
Cinnamon
Cardamom
Salt
Oil
Method
Soak channa dal for an hour and grind coarsely with little salt.
Put it in idly steamer and after steaming crumple it and keep aside.
Heat oil in kadai add saunf, cinnamon, cardamom, bay leaves one by one.
Now add chopped onion, ginger, garlic and chopped green chillies.
Then add chopped tomatoes ,salt , garam masala powder, chilly powder and saute well.
Add steamed dal mixture and fry well.
Add 1 cup water and let it boil for 4 mins.
When curry thickens switch off the stove.
Garnish with coriander leaves .
Serve with Idly or dosa or appam
